Supergirl: Sky Flyer
« on: September 03, 2019, 09:46:54 am »
Well, with the Announcement for 2020 made, we will now have Supergirl!, Myself I'm excited for it as it's the newer version of the classic Enterprise ride! Hopefully after this, they lay off the DC Themes for a bit!

You're asking a lot.

I do look forward to riding it.

I have never worried much about names or themes of rides or park sections.  I always hope the park uses such to best advantage to sell tickets.  I would guess the Supergirl theme will play well as using female heroes has become more popular. I won't ride it but I hope it does well.

I suppose the Agawam Planning Board agenda from August 15th meant to say "Ride Replacement" as opposed to "Ride Relocation." The minutes from the meeting were just posted, and all that is really stated is information regarding Supergirl Sky Flyer and the changes needing to be made to the area to accommodate the new attraction. The minutes do include a sentence claiming that "demo of the existing ride" will occur. So I suppose it's true; Kryptonite Kollider is being retired at the end of the season.

Here is a link to the minutes: https://www.agawam.ma.us/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Minutes/_08152019-1078

Thanks for the info. I'm not surprised. Maybe the ride can be shipped off to a park that could use it. Or they'll just send it to La Ronde

It seems that way. but they had it in storage for 3  or 4 years before reinstalling it in Nightwing's old spot after removing it from the Building.

I think it will be sent off to another park who doesn’t have one!

Is there going to be any work done around the area for Supergirl?

Nonetheless, I’m definitely excited for this ride and I don’t sympathize with people complaining.  SFNE has gotten some pretty good flats lately and this is only going to add to the collection.
I like how these past couple years, we’ve gotten the modern version of some flats.  Cyborg was a modern Wipeout and Supergirl is going to be a modern Endeavor.

Well according to the announcement if we remember not only Supergirl, but the area I guess is getting a new name, maybe a refresh of paint probably, not sure whats going on there but with Supergirl coming and getting a new ride, im excited, but I know there are some that are like um enough with the skinny rides due to motion sickness and stuff, which is a concern for a lot of park guests who can not enjoy the spinning rides.  its weird that the majority of flats just spin.  There are some that rock and some like transportation type rides, so not sure what more can be done to accommodate riders who cant spin.  There could be dark rides of course.  I get where people are coming from and it sucks that some people cant enjoy and hoping the aprk can find attractions so that people can enjoy as well!

I keep saying you guys need some Flying Scooters or something, I think they’d work great up there.

I agree enough with the Skinny ride we need a more rounded full-figured ride!  ;D

They remain populare at LC, Canobie, and Story Land. it woudl be a bit of a repeaed ride but one I wouldn'

I don't disagree but as long at SFI things they can get more marketing power out of branded rides they will keep it up.

I think it is pretty clear that any additions to DC area or Gotham will have a DC hook for a name.  Crackaxle or North End probably won't have that so it depends on where the ride is placed.  So are you saying you don't want any more additions in DC or Gotham after Supergirl?  Because I can't really see any rides coming into those areas without a DC name.
