Title: Danny's Jukebox (Music Talk)
Post by: Pineracer on May 09, 2019, 11:54:32 am
When I first saw teasers for Teen Beach Movie (2013), I was inspired to create a new installment in my former novel series called the Agency Adventures called Eastside Story (as Teen Beach Movie, or TBM for now on, is about the main characters getting stuck in a West Side Story parody set on a beach).

The antagonists, The Toldstones, orphans turned biker gang (the only aspect of TBM that i carried over) from New Orleans' House of the Rising Sun (a song reference). They also mastered many traditional instruments (mostly string, percussion, and Jazz instruments). They were going to get their own show in Jazzland (where they decided to work after the park broke ground). However, the deal was killed by Six Flags and were fired (how it fits into a theme park forum).

I've kept their story cannon in my current novel set in New Orleans and Jazzland, Legend in the Bayou, which is sinet in an alternate timeline where the park was reopened around Memorial Day 2018, with the novel's events taking place 7 years later.

That's just the background on the thread title. Anyways, Let's chat about music.

Since I just finish my Freshmen year of college yesterday, I was putting my clothes away and put on Pandora while folding my clothes. I don't even know which station it was on at the time (Omnia (NeoFolk) Radio, or Pagen Folk). Then this song in German pops up "Walpurgisnacht" (or Walpurgis Night, or in simple terms May Day eve after doing some research). The Scots and Spanish have All Souls Night/Dia De Los Muertos, the Germans and Scandanavias have Walpugis Night/May Day eve it seems.

I've seen teen beach movie, first one was good second one was wasn't that great felt forced and underdeveloped. Descendants is good but the sound editing it crap audio especially the singing doesn't match up with their mouths moving. i know its a TV movie but still.

Your West Side Story sounds interesting

Speaking of West Side Story Spielberg will be directing a  remake of the musical.

One of the first Celtic Thunder shows I say on PBS was Storm. It was recorded in 2009 alongside It's Entertainment!. its release was pushed back due to the shows Christmas and Heritage. One of the songs, a duet between Ryan Kelly and Charley Bird (but the character is performed by Caroline Torti), "Outside Looking in" made me think about Blaze and Roxy, the Cybervillains (i.e. evil rangers) of Power Rangers Beast Morphers. They still have the memories of the humans they came from (which is important to the motivations of both the heroes and villains in the show).

This is a parody of a song called "Fathom the Bowl":

Flatten The Curve

Come all you bold heroes, give an ear to my song
For we're self-isolating and the days feel so long
But it's still prob'ly worth it, our health to preserve
So let's stay indoors and we'll flatten the curve

We'll flatten the curve, we'll flatten the curve
So let's all stay indoors and we'll flatten the curve

The Italians shut borders, and Ireland shut pubs
From China to Korea, hands are fev'rishly scrubbed
The French they take dinner with homemade hors d'ouvres
So let's stay indoors and we'll flatten the curve

We'll flatten the curve, we'll flatten the curve
So let's stay indoors and we'll flatten the curve

My friends they do attend me when I'm laid at my ease
Through Facebook and Discord they're eager to please
To keep my hopes high, and my mood to observe
So let's stay indoors and we'll flatten the curve

We'll flatten the curve, we'll flatten the curve
So let's stay indoors and we'll flatten the curve

Grandfathers and asthmatics they need care the best
So let's free up beds for our dear NHS
We're in this together, let our courage not swerve
So let's stay indoors and we'll flatten the curve

We'll flatten the curve, we'll flatten the curve
So let's stay indoors and we'll flatten the curve
