LC 2021 Calendar
« on: February 01, 2021, 12:10:46 pm »
The 2021 Calendar is now on their site.  If this is the final version, they have gutted operating days.  The opening is a couple of weeks later than usual but more importantly it is weekends only in June and they are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for July/early August and then back just weekends late August/mid September.  They say it may change but they are starting with this.    Covid :(

wow, that is a very trimmed schedule. Though when visited with family of the bring a friend pass it was on Tuesdays and the park was very dead except for a couple of group outings.  I can understand the trimmed schedule as they continue to recover but it is frustrating.

Didn't they mention they would post the worst case scenario and improve it if conditions improve by summer?  I think Kennywood said the same.

Hadn't heard that but it makes sense. better to add than to have to take away.

I think as the summer goes on they will retreat it. I think they are basing this off of last years data! So I think more dates will get added as time goes on and covid vaccine distribution gets better and more people are vaccinated!

The state came out and said parks can open at 75% capacity or no more than 100,000 guests.

They are still listed as closed midweek all summer which is far from the norm of years past.

While I'm disappointed I'm not surprised. I have visited most often on weekdays over the last few years and the park was reasonably slow every time. This is with most of the crowds seemingly coming from summer camp trips. So the attendance may not be there to operate those days but it would be nice to have an option to hit a Thursday or Friday.

Well there is even more trimming now.  Besides the weekdays trimmed from the schedule, an examination of the Season Pass offer shows that SP attendance to the Fall and Winter events are now limited to three times per passholder for both combined. That means like twice for Fall and once for Winter and you are now paying if you want to go more often.  They are kind of treating these like Disney special ticket events.  It certainly diminishes the value of a SP.   I hope I am reading the SP chart wrong but I don't think so.

That is a strange move you would think a setup like that woudl only be done with the lower pass but its the top 3 passes. There i a section about discounts but there are no discounts yet.

I imagine this move is do to haunted graveyard leaving. They will ned to invest about a half million to start up their own haunt.
