Holiday Lights 12/10
« on: December 11, 2021, 06:00:43 am »
We got to LC for Holiday Lights last night.  We walked the park and enjoyed the lights but the busy/festive vibe of previous years just wasn't there.  There were less specialty seasonal food selections, no ice carving type displays, and no food trucks.  The food trucks over the last few years added a lot to the event.  LC had some of their food locations open but nothing like previous years.  They did add a Christmas themed show in the ballroom and I am sure the little kids liked it.  We used our passes for admission but if I had paid the $20 gate price I would have been very disappointed.

Nice review.

I also visited the event for the first time. I was not very impressed. all the displays are basic except for the big tree at the entrance.  There were a few cool ones like light displays taht matched rides in the kiddie area and the snowman that slid down the hill during ghost hunt.

Speaking of ghost hunt it was re-themed a little for the holidays which was really cool

The show was cute and a good way to get out of the cold but I had already seen it a decade+ ago at Santa's Village and it was shorter then I remembered. Talent could have been better also.

It was very slow and there was a lack of things to do with all the coasters down. even the Ferris wheel was down. did ride the train 3 times and not once did they do that carolokee they were bragging about. I ate before I got to the park because i was unsure what food would be available but was unexpressed by the options available.

I credit much of this in my mind to dealing wit the pandemic and don;t want to fully judge it until I see it in a more normal situation.
