LC & COVID19
« on: April 03, 2020, 09:35:29 pm »
LC announced today that all 2020 Season Passes have been extended thru June 2021.  I guess that gets them out of refunds and kicks the can to next summer.  Of course, the question then will be what is the price of extending a Season Pass to the end of the 2021 season.  I am sure there is way more to come on this, as who really knows when parks will be able to open.

Smart move. I was highly considering the top tear/new England pass and hitting all 3 local parks this year.

At elast LC has been doing a lot to upgrade restrooms and faciliteis so the park feels clean.

on the LC website, they want to open for May 23rd basically around Memorial weekend. Just recently as yesterday Universal Orlando FL will not open until May 31st so who knows. Only time will tell once people actually listening to the state.

Dates is May are pretty aggressive.   No crystal ball or anything but big groups close together just don't seem likely that soon.  We went to Disneyland the last week in February and now looking back that was insane! Knowing now what I did not fully know then, we will not be in a park in May.

I understand the strategy of not setting dates way out and just walking it back as needed, but I would expect that May date to become a June date sometime in the next few weeks.

The end of May is not that aggressive. This thin is hitting the peak and many states are talking about opening up maintenance and landscapers before things like salons and every day's stores so LC and their parks should be able to get teams in to get the park ready before everything is lifted. it also depends on how ready the park was before the stop work orders were in place.

I imagine those that we can expect that not everything will be ready when they oepn.

I guess the way I look at it is that the things that reopen will still be required to enforce social distancing and I just can't imagine how that can be done at amusement parks.  It would seem odd to have amusement parks open in CT while the schools are still closed.  And the schools are almost certainly going to stay closed for the rest of the school year which is into early June.

Tomorrow during The Grove Show and it will also be uploaded separately, the Interview with Assitant GM Larry Gorneault will be going to YOUTUBE! We did the phone Video call and we do talk about COVID 19, as well as other cool items for possibly 2020/2021 depending on reopening! The interview is roughly 58 minutes long!

It was awesome and building our working relationship getting stronger and working on things for SFNEOnline once they reopen!  I will post the links up once they have been created!

Most signs post to parks not being able to open up until summer. July seems to not be the date looked at with a few hopping for father's day the last weekend in May. but I doubt that will happen. NO lifted restrictions won't include large attraction by parks yet and while malls might open soon you can't use the food courts. campgrounds are looking to open mid-month but pools and playgrounds can't.

I didn't bother asking about the park opening because of these reasons, but there is a lot of cool info that should make people happy! There is a lot of what-ifs going around and can't wait for everything to reopen whenever that is! Staying home sucks! The Virus already has gone through my house, so now we are ready for life to come back to normal!

LC has now made all 2020 season passes good thru all of 2021.  LC is almost always fair with this type  of stuff and here they are again.  I am not thinking I will be at the park in 2020 on my pass but those that are it will just be a bonus.
