I visited Animal Kingdom in its first year. The Asian Pavilion and the rapids ride hadnt been completed yet sadly a major rain storm shut down the river ride and we missed out on that attraction which is not gone.

AK has always been a half day park for us.  There are many very good attractions (Dinosaur, Everest, numerous animal exhibits, Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo) but on a normal day you can do all in 1/2 day there.  Since our last visit they have added Avatar and also River of Light night time show to hold the crowd longer and extend the operating hours there.  Perhaps our next time there will be a full day or perhaps just the second half of the day instead of our usual opening the park approach.

We spent the whole day but then the safari, Bugs life, and Countdown to Extinction, now Dinosaur, both had lines over an hour long. Some of the trecks took close to an hour to do.  But then at that time the park opened around 10 am and closed at I think 6 or 7 earlier than any of the other parks.

Our last visit the park opened at 8 AM and with almost no lines at all we were out at 1 PM.  It took some planning on show times but we did all we wanted in the 5 hrs.  Like I said earlier, our new strategy would be to arrive around 1 PM add Avatar to our usuals and extend to close for the night show.

AK permanently closed Primeval  Whirl now and also will no longer have the night time show.  They seldom operated PW anyhow and the reviews of the night time show were less than inspiring. So probably no great loss.

I only went to AK in August 2013. I rode one side of Primeval Whirl, but I've now missed something since then.
I saw the Lion King Show in Camp Minnie-Mickey and I might only go there to get ahead of a storm or watch the Finding Nemo show as I haven't seen that one yet.

I never got on PW. It wasn't there when I visited in 99 and I haven't been back since.  While it's nothing amazing it would have been nice to get the credit. but I hope they replace it wth a coaster.

People are saying either Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios will get an Indiana Jones expansion.

The main toss up is Dinosaur can easily be rethemed to Indiana Jones as its a clone of the Disneyland and Tokyo Attractions and they can fit the looping Mine Train coaster in the Dino Carnival area. They could also replace Star Tours and Muppet's Courtyard as it would fit with the stunt show right there (or keep Grand Avenue and shift closer to replacing the Stunt Show with the land).

Disney also owns Ice Age now so they can replace Dino Land with them-it still fits that space as 90% of the characters are extinct.

If Indy went to Animal kingdom, which seems a bit out fo place, they shouldn't replace Dinosaur with it. I know Disney seems intent to have a property on everything but in the spirit of animal kingdoms education side, the dino focused area should not be removed.

Obviously The studio park is the best fit but that side of the park also contains Toy story and star wars. if you put 2 new sections on one side of the park. A3rd new area would just suck up the gests to that side of the park.  any major addition should really replace the unused animation studio on the other side fo the park.

I've heard of a Pixar re-do of Sunset Boulevard. Rock n' Roller Coaster would be The Incredibles, you already have the Cars show. I was thinking Monsters Inc could replace Tower of Terror. Bring back Fantasmic with newer content like what Disneyland did (when its safe to do so). This will probably be the better option long term as they can easily control social distancing, etc for a seated venue vs using the Chinese Theater for stuff.

I'd remove the Beauty and the Beast Show for an Onward dark ride (it would probably be similar to the Monsters Inc Dark rides in CA Adventure and Tokyo). I'd truncate Sunset Boulevard at Prospect Avenue. I'd make most of Animation Courtyard backstage so they can build more Pixar Rides. Perhaps add more 20th Century references from their famous shows and movies that older guests and TV/movie buffs will enjoy (I was thinking M*A*S*H, they already have a Rosie's)

It's an interesting idea but overall I dislike is Sunset Blvd is one of the best looking sections of any of the parks and I'd hat to see it removed for more childish branded content. Especially when ToT and RRC are really not families focused.

also, the Animation building is dead with no hand-animated features any more that building is basically a museum of sorts and the area is dead. the Littel mermaid show could be upgraded and there is land behind that building that could hold more.
