Pretty much what everyone expected.   It should be a good addition to the park. capacity is nice and high so it should eat up the lines.

Vortex is being removed! While i didn't really enjoy the ride much it seems like a shock with a sudden removal of a large ride like this. It's safe to assume it is not getting replaced with anything directly next year with Orion going in this year.

Vortex is over 30 years old - so although sudden, certainly not shocking.  It was a one and done for us, not memorable at all.

It's sad to say but I'm sure this will not be the last Arrow coaster tobe removed.  33 years is a long time for a steel coaster.

I agree it won't be replaced next year. but this remove an attraction and spend the summer prepping for it seems to be working for them. Question is will they replace it with one big coaster or a smaller coaster and leave room for other attractions.

That part of the park will be fairy dead except for the Antique Cars and Windseeker. Should probably relocate it to Michigan's Adventure just because they would probably never get anything else over 200ft.

yeah, i found ti crazy to be retiring that coaster, but i guess with age, lack of parts takes a toll and then can get something newer that wont be a nightmare for awhile!

Kings Island is suing Ohio. Hoping they win this one. Seems stupid the state allows everyone to do basically everything but then restricts just a specific group from reopening.

Not sure what world you're looking out.  Outside of a couple of states parks are still shut down. In every phased reopening amusement and theme parks are in the last phase. why because they rely on high crowds that spend pretty much there whole day bunched together.

Chances of them winning are slim to none. Not to mention they are going to fork out thousands of dollars they aren't bringing in.

Ohio seems to be ahead on many things from what I can see.

May 21: Inside service at restaurants and bars (plus carryout)
May 21: Campgrounds
May 22: Horse racing
May 26: Ohio BMV offices (five offices are open for essential services)
May 26: Gyms, fitness centers, and tennis clubs
May 26: Community swimming pools
May 26: Non-contact sports such as baseball and softball
May 31: Child care centers
May 31: Day camps

Still up in the air:

Movie theaters, casinos, amusement parks, zoos, museums

Now one write up said waterparks could open which would make it even harder for them to win.   But if any Ohio residents feel put out ook at the restrictions here in New England.  That aside many parks are looking at a July opening range.

Looks like it was worth it for them... Just saying

I'm looking at the world around me not from News reports blowing smoke everywhere. I go to work everyday because I am "Essential" (which was stupid) and in doing that i also go out in the world and guess what everything is just as busy if not busier than it was before this pandemic. Stop and shops are always crowded around me, same with Lowes and Home Depots are busier than ever and people are all packed together and there is not mass chaotic deaths were I live.

You gave the breakdown of what Ohio has allowed to open and looking at that how is Kings Island or Cedar point any less safe than say a Gym or a day camp? Sure it's more people at them but every gym I've ever been to is full of people sweating everywhere and all touching the same equipment.

I also want to be clear i am not a Trump loving crazy but why have we allowed select people in our Government to just completely decide what can open when they feel it is right while letting other business die that can be just as safe if not safer

it did seem to work out.

I also don't get Gyms over anything outdoors. Nor do I get the practicality of opening a public pool which general has limited space to distance yourself.

I still suspect we won't see any opening day until sometime in July but they could have simply stated that goal to begin with.
