Alpine Bobsled Discussion
« on: May 17, 2019, 09:04:08 pm »
It's no secret the Alpine Bobsled didn't have the best 2018.  By all accounts, it barely ran last year.

Has there been any signs of life by the ride thus far this year?  I haven't seen it operational yet according to QueueTimes.

Havn't been to the park yet.  but Bobsled is always hit and miss. I find it to be a lot of fun and I do very much enjoy it but if I had to pick a coaster to leave the park this would be it.

On opening day it didnt seem to have anything going on near or around it. But Sasquatch was closed as well so could of just been opening day jitters

Last night I forgot to mention they replaced the axles and  few other things on the parks So they do plan to operate it.

That's a good sign the cars got some work.  It's definitely my second favorite ride on the ride side, but it's downtime and capacity are issues.

It is. Seems one hope is to have more cars on at a time. but they would need to open it first.

The biggest issue ive noticed is it can't run if there is any water in the trough at all so i think maybe they should engineer some way for it to drain instead of just puddling up.

It is our 2nd favorite in the park also.  Getting a ride on it can be a real challenge.  Between the weather closures (even a little wet will do that),  the short hours of operation (opens late after park opening and closes early before park close) even when all is perfect, and the long lines because of the access and low capacity we often miss out on it and since we only get to that park once every in a few years there are large gaps between rides.

They do need to do something. not sure if a drain mesh would affect the wheels. I agree that with it not operating there is a hole in the lineup and just makes line at the other rides worse.

Out of curiosity, when was the last time anyone saw the Alpine Bobsled run?  Queue Times is saying that it hasn't run the past week.  I guess it'll be another visit without me riding it.

Thanks!  I'll keep my fingers crossed it opens, but if not I think I'll only be riding the Comet.

I was actually open and running once in the five times I’ve been to the park so far this year

Just a FYI, the park app had Alpine Bobsled listed as closed all day but it was open.
