Every year this ride avoids the wrecking ball.  I get it's great for families, but it just seems to run so sporadically.

I think the park jsut finds it cheaper to have it and run it when they cn then replacing it.

I don't really see why every year everyone wants this thing replaced. It's a fun unique with nothing like it around. Sure it barely operates and has horrible capacity but it's not like Six flags will remove it then replace it with anything better at The Great Escape. Most likely what will happen is it will be removed and replaced with a splash battle for the water park.

You answered it yourself, "Sure it barely operates and has horrible capacity."

Do I think they would replace it with something amazing probably not! But they seem willing to spend upwards a million on a single year addition.  So to say they would never spend 4 million? They could remove it and add a family woodie with a similar intensity for as little as 2 million.  There would aso be room left over if designed right to expand the water park in the future.

I was implying that removing it for most likely nothing replacing it even with it's limited operations to me it's still better than a big empty sport with some small spinning ride in it's spot. Has Six Flags ever built a small family wooden coaster? Smallest i can think of is American Thunder at St Louis and it still isn't really a family coaster. If they built a Wooden warrior type ride that would be amazing but it's just not what Six Flags ever does at any of there parks

Six Flags didn't build it, but Little Dipper at SF Great America is a family woodie.  It was relocated to there about 10 years ago.

SFI has not really added family wood coasters. but the style as a whole is somewhat new. Like pointed out the last family wood coaster added was a relocation from a local family park that closed but the coaster they had was very popular in the region.

but these family level wood coasters are starting to grown and SFI hasn't hopped on the bandwagon yet but with their additions leaning towards coasters its only a matter of time.

What people neglect is that we’re on the incline at TGE, and we’ve never been as bad as people say.

Are we ever gonna get a B&M Wing, no.  The only years that I’d say Six Flags treated us poorly were 2011 (Timbertown) and 2015 (Buccaneer Beach).  They don’t invest because they don’t have to, but that doesn’t mean they won’t.  They know what the park needs.

On paper, Flying Scooters sounds cheap and like Six Flags doesn’t care about Great Escape, but if you notice it’s consistently got one of the longest lines in the park.

Even if you threw that argument away, say Six Flags has treated us like garbage.  We’re still getting a lot better.  2019 saw the entire rehaul of our water park, and 2020 saw a semi-pricey ride that is going to be the most thrilling on the property (now with Steamin’ Demon upgrades and landscaping).

Eventually, we are gonna get something, and when the day comes and Bobsled has to go, I’m confident they’ll give us something noteworthy.

I agree they have seen plenty of solid additions.  I would not say in any way Timbertown was the park being poorly treated.  They got caught up in the Wiggles BS. other parks lost Wiggles and Thomas. They dumped the characters but I never really felt they did much for the park.

Al[ine simply doesn't do much for the park anymore. it's the same reason I feel Canobie should remove and replace Corkscrew.

I get that but when AB is open its got the longest line in the park.  They also just poured a ton of work into it and it’s operating way more now.  I wouldn’t count of this going anywhere anytime soon.

A long line has less meaning when capacity is low. They havn;t operated this coaster at full capacity in a very long time.

But yes, they did put work into the coaster and the cars.

Regardless, it’s a popular ride and I don’t see it going down easily.  We have so much undeveloped land, I’m not sure why people insist on replacing coasters when we could just use the 100+ acres we haven’t touched.
