Flying Trapeze
« on: June 27, 2019, 09:43:12 pm »
Speaking of closed rides, how often does the Flying Trapeze actually run?  I can't recall a visit where I've seen it open since 2000.

I wonder if they're just listed as closed by default on the app like the Bobsleds since they've had a history of downtime.

They were open on Saturday.  First time I saw them open in a while.

I think this flat is on its way out.  I think if they put a StarFlyer there it would look great.

Unless they build it up a lot they would have to remove the Sky ride. the Starflyers use a very large platform.

but I agree it's on its way out. they don't seem to be doing any more then they have to do to keep it up.

Wasn’t there a time this was going to be moved where Supernova is?  I think they were planning for a Starflyer (what else would be better suited in that location rather than next to Comet) and then something fell through.

It seems we get shafted a lot, I remember hearing we were supposed to get a Sky Rocket II around 2015, and I still believe 2020 was supposed to be the Spinning Mouse.

I don't know if that was ever a real thing. I know myself and a number of others talked about this idea on the old SFNE forums and The TGE Central forums.

I'm not sure if the Starflyer plan was really concrete, but moving Flying Trapeze was. They installed the electrical for it in front of Comet, and they actually had Flying Trapeze dismantled and ready to be moved (dismantled might not be the word - more like folded up - it's a carnival model on a trailer). There were pics on the web at some point, but I'm sure they were lost with time.
