If I ran the park...
« on: January 07, 2020, 07:56:56 pm »
Sorry for the over abundance of new topics, this is my last one lmao.

If I ran TGE, my ten year plan would be-

2021- Cardiff Giant, a Chance GTX Hyper going in the smoking areas and flat midway next to Skycoaster.  Return of Holiday in the Park.

2022- Intergalactic Encounters, a Sally Interactive Dark Ride going alongside Comet and where the little dip behind the fences next to Supernova is.  Area gets rethemed to “Asteroid Alley” or something along those lines and sees new theming.

2023- Tsunami Surge, a Proslide Water Coaster going in the employee parking lot and on Mega Wedgie’s (now removed) pad.

2024- Timbertown receives an upgrade.  3 new rides occupy the old Timbertown theater location, along with a Moose-on-the-Loose-esque ride being swamp themed and located on the former Timbertown trail.  Return of the dive show (where it previously was) and petting zoo (nothing huge, located next to Blizzard).

2025- Upstate SkyScreamer, a ~75 foot Funtime Star Flyer located on Flying Trapeze’s (now removed) old pad.

2026- Manifest Destiny, a Gravity Group wooden coaster replacing Alice in Wonderland.  If Alpine Bobsled has been removed at this point because of maintenance issues, Manifest Destiny would be a GCI Wooden coaster located there instead.

2027- Tornado, a flying theater ride located in the old Nightmare building returns to the park in a new form.

2028- This one is a little complicated.  If Manifest Destiny is a Gravity Group coaster, then Convoy is removed and Cannonball Express is relocated to Hot Rod USA and is placed indoors, rethemed to Jailhouse Rock.  These two rides are replaced with Max Force, a Sky Rocket II.  If Manifest Destiny was a GCI coaster, Twisted Forest, a Vekoma family inverted coaster, replaces Alice in Wonderland.

2029- Doom Lagoon, a Proslide MultiBUMP slide and Python Plunge, a Proslide Serpentine are added to Hurricane Harbor.

2030- Dare Devil Flying Machines, a Zamperla Air Race, is added on Pirate Ship’s old pad.

Some interesting ideas there.

Personly not a fan of the idea of Removing Alice. I'd rather see it upgraded and make more wheelchair accessible.   The concept was good just need to make it more visual and add soem sounds and maybe simple effects to make it interstign to a new gneration.

I think it’s just out of date.  No one ever uses it and I think that’d be a perfect spot for a new small scale coaster.  Family invert, GG woodie or even a Steeplechase.

I get that argument. that area is not very big and A family invert would not fit. any small steel or woodie would be basically a kiddie coaster. Roar-A-Souris is a family woodie and it used better than twice that amount fo land

You could possibly upgrade into a dark ride since you could do more than one story to add rooms.

Also, what's with the  GTC name? Cardiff Giant, I looked up Crodiff and its a town in England. The fest area is more bavarian then British.

Cardiff Giant was a hoax about a 10 foot tall man in Upstate NY a long time ago.  P.T. Barnum made a copy and used him in some of his shows.

I guess I should have searched the full name. I think it may go over most people's heads and you would have to invest more money to market the name that most won't get.

Manifest Destiny was also out there as a ride name. Doesn't roll off the tung very well.

I get your point about CG.  I don’t think Manifest Destiny has to be the name, I just think an exploration themed coaster would be awesome.

I’m not sure how you would get back there but they have the land behind the log flume where the other train used to run. It’s cleared and basically flat. I think a single rail coaster setup more as a speed coaster like Superman or Nitro would be a huge hit and reasonably priced. It doesn’t have to be the biggest or fastest just fun and unique to the park. You could see it from the road too.

I think that is why he mentioned the chance coaster.

If you removed the building or to be honest both the building and flume you would open up that entire back section. You could always rebuild the flume and incorporate the building and themign back into the new version.

Yeah, I know a lot of people push for a Raptor or something here but I think we need that signature, non-investing steel coaster.  Basically our Superman but obviously not as big, I think a GTX Hyper would fill that quota.
I love your idea of the hyper-style Raptor track though.

As for location, I think the land behind Desperado is great, but I think 3 coasters that close might be a little overkill.

Which is what they used to have. and look at Gotham, and south end at SFNE both areas have 3 coasters on to of each other.  Just pointing out that its not too far out fo the question.

But I agree they don't really need 3 coasters in one place and should focus on having a variety of attractions.

Demon will always be special to me since it was the first inverting coaster I ever went on but outside of that yes it would be three coasters but in reality one good one. To many flumes have gone away so if they were to reroute or rebuild that would be great otherwise I hope they leave it as is. I can’t see them taking the nightmare building out since it’s storage and don’t they have a haunt in it too?

I mentioned the raptor type style but chance would be great to. I hear nothing but good things about Lightning Run. I guess who ever would give the best bang for the buck.  SF’s has the long relationship with RMC and now will have two raptors in the chain so that’s why I leaned that way.

It doesn’t really matter for me what type, I just really want that stand out steel coaster we lack.

I feel the same way about Corkscrew at Canobie. It was my first inverting coaster and I have that connection but I still understand that the park has outgrown it.

Sadly while the Nightmare building is used for storage and a haunt the building is right in the middle of everything if you were to expand.

Can they make a path around Desperado to behind it?
