SFNE day and LC night
« on: September 28, 2019, 10:56:36 pm »
We split our time today between the two parks.  We were at SFNE at noon opening.  Gold Pass got us in early and we were at STR before noon.  It opened just a few min after noon and we got two front seat rides in the first 40 min.  It was running pretty good but only one checker on each side slowed the line even though both trains were on.

We took a break for lunch and used our meal plan at the Riverboat Cafe.  The salads there are really very good.  Highly recommend!

We finished up with two back seat rides on WC which were excellent.  How this coaster was only ranked #39 in the Golden Ticket this year is beyond me!  As the day went by the park was getting busier and it looked like the night crowd was probably going to be pretty good.

We headed out to LC and got there just after 5 PM opening.  Compared to the hustle we had left at SFNE it was dead.  BD was a station wait all night.  We rode BD first in the front seat and there were 4 swarms of gnats on the course.  It was very similar to STR a couple weeks ago. At the end of the run we had bugs in our hair, on our shirts on a mess on the glasses.  We did our next few rides a few rows back and had less problem.

We took a break from BD ad hit Phobia, Ghost Hunt and did a spin on the sky coaster.  By then it was fully dark so we went back to BD for a front seat dark ride for our last of the night and probably this season.  We have been riding BD since 2003 and this ride was the best one ever!  No bugs to start with, but best of all it was a moonless night.  It was so dark on the outbound portion that you couldn't see two feet in front of the coaster!  It was amazing.  If Golden Ticket voters had been able to experience BD like this it would have won hands down.

It was a fun day with lots of rides on three world class coasters in two parks.  It might be our last time for this season so it was a good end.

Sorry I put LC in here with SFNE but I didn't want to split the report of the day.

Great report. Yeah Fright Fest for SFNE has been doing a lot better this year with crowds, it will do better with BIG E now closed for the year! LC is a nice park, I enjoy every time I go, I ma hoping they start adding more rides to the park, I think they have been seeing attendance drops to start doing this now since honestly the last ride added was phobia if I'm not mistaken and going too many years with out adding attractions isn't good, though understandably doing work on BD & Wildcat took some of the budget away!

Glad to see you and fun and I love moonless nights on BD its amazing! The problem with Golden Tickets is that it feels like people vote to whom butt they want to kiss! There are other parks that should be winning but people vote how they want to vote for things! I know we have bias because its our region but even traveling outside the region there are a lot of great parks and rides that do not win that should, but as Golden Tickets says best of the best, the voting is best for the fanboys hahaha

WC at SFNE is amazing , it deserves a better spot, but not a lot of voters for to SFNE so theres that!

Casey's Delta schedule changed at the last minute and she had Saturday off so we did the split park day again.  SFNE was REALLY quiet at noon opening.  We did three front seat rides on STR in just under an hour.  After lunch we hit WC for three back seat rides and although the lines were a bit longer there it was still three pretty short waits.  Both coasters were running very well.  Pretty sure that was our last time to SFNE when those two are running so it was good to get them one last time for 2019.

LC was much busier at 5 PM opening than last time.  The line for BD was almost back to the pagoda but even with a one train operation the wait was under 30 min for the front.  We did two rides then had dinner while it got dark and rode one last time well after sunset.  It wasn't as good as the moonless ride last time but it was running very well.   That will be it for BD for us in 2019 too.  It was a good day.

The line for BD is sometimes deceiving .  So many times ive seen it come out then realized even with one train its not horrible!
