back in the day on SFNE online
« on: March 04, 2020, 07:53:12 am »
not so long ago the board was pretty active discussing new attractions, construction updates, drone footage etc. I miss that excitement we used to have on this board. A simple construction marker would generate a bunch of posts. Somehow we used to figure out all the minute details right down to the color of the paint in the que.
Has the park released any teasers for us to obsess over and talk about?  I know there likely isnt much to mull over when a new flat ends up on an existing pad.

I haven't seen much from the park about the new ride/area. I simply haven't had to time to wat video only footage from Noreaster. When I attended I did a written trip report. If nothing else you could skim to the park(s) you wanted to hear about and move on.

I think Social media has hurt forums a lot. Forums are very social but they don't offer the quick gratification you get from Facebook, twitter, youtube, etc. I mean even her how many posts are not written out and simply linked to Facebook, twitter or youtube.

I'm seeing the same trend on the Whalom Forums we get posts but not often. Hell, my friend will post once or twice on the forums and then spend all day sharing videos on facebook.

I agree, social media has hurt forums.

It couldn't hold a candle to the investigative work this board used to uncover.

I suspect if we had a more thrilling attraction that required a lot of construction, excavating etc there would be more interest too.

I watched Josh’s SFNE presentation and they really didn’t hint at much. The did say that the DC Super Hero area will be rebranded to DC Universe.  Also it sounds like that whole area will get newer theming like Gotham did last year.

Social Media did def hurt the board, But we keep chugging along with it regardless. The new plan from here on out is anything of rumors, known items for attractions that shouldn't be posted on Social Media are going to be posted in the forums!

There used to be tons of fun here, then Social Media took over.  I know eventual this forum will die, which is sad because of the past and the fun we had, but we'll keep it going as long as people continue to come! Hopefully, we can somewhat build it back up but with Facebook, TWITTER, YOUTUBE, are forums a needed thing?

The off Season around here does suck, but thankfully we have added some new people to help SFNEOnline get more stuff posted that SFNEOnline was always known for!

AS FOR SFNE I am going to include the presentation and not much has been talked about as I am not sure why at the moment.  I know the park is going to be sending me pictures when they are ready to show us.  I do think 2021 is going to be a water park year and 2022 a roller coaster year!

IMO- couple reasons why a forum has its place over social media. Especially in our case.
As enthusiasts- we aren't average guests. I don't know about the rest of you but I cant follow along with social media pages on park stuff because its either marketing propaganda put out by the park or ignorant general public comments.

This board typically tells it like it is- the good, the bad, and sometimes the ugly.  it serves real information

Thing is Forums allow people to follow along they can catch up or add to a conversation that has been gone for a while Social media is very yesterday's news is yesterday's news and only focuses on what's current. Also, sites like Facebook put the priority on pages that are spending money si general guests can't just see your posts.

As for eh video it cuts off during the Q&A. What other questions were asked.

There wasn't anything that was relevant because they went into doing the game show, I honestly think it was done unpurpose on their end because I bet they weren't ready to show off dc universe or supergirl
