This year may be the year they try to push more open for HITP with them not being able to open during this virus to make up some profits lost

It's hard to say.  SFI has a lot fo debt so its not as simple as saying were going to toss a few extra days on. also once you get past new years people stop thinking about you. so they would have to invest in marketing to pramote that they are open those extra days.

I think parks could open around August. I think once they do open it will stay open until HITP closes! We may get only a weekend only season depending when they open!

I still don't see how amusement parks can operate anything near efficiently enough to make it worth going and maintain social distancing at the same time.  I hope they figure something out because I will miss parks if I don't go this year.

I guess they will have to really think this through and make lots of changes. Just off the top of my head - Single rider lines are definitely history as who would want to be next to someone they don't know. Physical checking of restraints by the op may become visual check of rider pulling on straps etc. Six foot boxes painted on the floors for all lines could become the norm which will challenge many queues.  Gloved and masked nurses taking guest temps besides going thru a metal detector could become the norm.

The cost of all these things linked with a reduced season and reduced attendance even on days open all combine to put incredible financial pressure on parks.  I am just hoping most survive.

It's hard to say how things will change. we first need o find out if the warmer weather will have an effect on the virus. Disney has stated they plan to check temps but that won't help you if the person is A-systematic.  Social distancing won't work well in parks unless you can highly limit attendance and capacity.  most queues are not set up to stay 6ft apart.

I imagine guests will need to wear masks. It will be uncomfortable but it's the only surefire way to protect guests and it will also allow for closer groupings.

As for Holiday in the park I could see then if conditions are right trying to expand the season into January and extend the season.

The newest science on sunlight and the virus is that sunlight does kill the virus on surfaces faster than indoors.  That is great but not if you are riding in a seat just occupied by a virus carrier 30 seconds prior. There is just so much to learn before a real plan can be made but if Trump had his way the parks would be open next weekend.  Let the kids catch it and spread it to their Grandparents.  So what, SFI stock went up.

Lance Hart from Screamscape/Blooloop looks at parks upon reopening.  His points about regional parks are spot on for SFNE.

That was actually a good read! Time will tell for sure on what the hell is going to happen and after a certain time how does it work with will things go back to a normal or a bit different. Im interested to see how Theme Parks go from here and into the future!
