If I ran the park
« on: August 25, 2019, 02:27:00 pm »
This is more fo a fun thread. A place to Go all RCT in the park. You are now the GM and making the call on what the park dose. Talk about ride relocation removal, additions, area retheming, etc. The only rule, be realistic.  Think about the park's land constraints, keep the park's buffer zone in mind. Remember their needs.

But most importantly have fun!

Rides I would remove from the PARK:

Goliath
Flashback
GCG
Tomahawk
Houdini
Rodeo

Next, I would revamp Crack Axle Canyon, into a Steam Punk Themed area.  I would also relocate the Maintenance Building into the Employee Parking Lot, Make employees park across the street.  I would add a Dark Ride themed into that area that would be next to Wicked cyclone, also get rid of the dead-end and make it connect with a path leading down towards Baloon Race.   I would also add a Launch Coaster in the Flashback/Goliath Spots, Moving Baloon Race repainted Rethemed to fit with the new area.  I would Also add an Air Race, I would add some other flats like a tilt a whirl, whip into this area.

After this section got a retheme, I would Work on Revamping Kidzoplolis, it needs some updating, refresh with paint, etc it just looks faded and not as good as it used to.

I would add more theming to Gotham City because it really doesn't have much.

The rest inside the dry side is painting, making the park sparkle.

For The Water Park, I would totally refresh and retheme Hurricane Harbor, Name is fine, it's just faded and could use the paint really. but it needs some slides.

Remove Swiss Toboggan slide and add a MAtt Racer or a bowl slide.

Now it needs More Changing Rooms & Lockers.  Needs more places to eat away from the current cluster by the big Wave Pool! Even if it was exactly the same places, just move them towards Bonsai Pipeline area so the crowd is split between both sides of the park! If the park jsut refreshed the entire water park with paint and add some more shade on the walkways, jsut to help cool off the cement when my feet are cooking!  If they added more trees or sprayers to wet the ground would work wonders or find a different material to use that one isn't slippery and won't absorb the sun so much! I forgot which water park I went to, but the sun was beating on the walkway but was not burning my feet, it was weird and was like all water parks need this!

A lot of great ideas there. I can't say I'm happy to see Houdini listed as leaving. But at least you plan to add a new dark ride.  What sort fo dark ride would you want to add?

Mainly I would do a water park revamp.

Remove Swiss Family Toboggan, it's run down and the line is always so slow.

Add in a new water slide, something like Honu or Ika Moana from Volcano Bay

Install a system like the taputapu system that Volcano Bay uses

Add some more food areas, especially near the Bonsai Pipelines and I would definitely utilize that section of the park more. Seems like no one goes over there since it's so out of the way.

Change the food to be more edible, probably number one on my list. I know my favorite place to eat is Take Six but the quality has decreased the past few years.

Remove Goliath and all the rides in crack axle canyon save for Houdini and bumper cars and add a launch coaster in that footprint.

Add a few NON SPINNING flats in the crack axle canyon area for those who can't ride coasters (young children/parents with young children)

Another water ride that's in the dry park, the power splash that's coming to Texas looks awesome

Other than that, paint coasters that need paint jobs like Batman who could use a refresh and maybe Superman.

Open up Superman area for Holiday in the Park so that Cyborg can run and the new supergirl flat. I think they said superman can't run in the cold, but maybe if it's above a certain temperature it can during HITP

I know there was talk of adding more bathrooms/changing areas into the water park so add that in. Misters for the ground in the water park

Add some misters in line for rides as well

I would add a Dark Ride that was interactive, Add one with a steam Punk Theme to fit a whole new revamp of Crack Axle. There are many ways to go with that theme, but lets be honest the area needs some love as that area gets the last amount of foot traffic due to its location these days. Its only popular during Fright Fest!

I think one of the biggest mistakes with that area was blocking off the cut through to the restrooms.

Now generally when you talk interactive dark rides you have one of the options
Video, like Battle fo metropolis or Midway mania. This can be standard video images or 3D requiring classes.
2D, Like Ghost hunt/ There, tends to be some 3D elements but many sets or figures are like cardboard cutouts.
3D, where all the many figures and targets are 3D. Similar to Buzz Lightyear, Turkey hunt

Which would you prefer?

Something like Toy Story Midway Mania perhaps?

Yow story mania is a video-based ride not unlike Battle for Metropolis.

I always thought a western-based battle for metropolis style ride would be a lot of fo fun.

My 5 Year Plan would be-

2021- Screamin’ Eagles (Larson Flying Scooters) and Wagon Wheel Roundup (Chance Unicoaster) located in Crackaxle Canyon.
2022- Riverside Rocket (Vekoma Second Gen. Launch Coaster) located in Goliath and Flashback’s location.
2023- Bucket Blasters (Zamperla Watermania) and Wahoo Racer (Proslide Mat Racer) in Hurricane Harbor.
2024- Wonder Woman Golden Lasso (Mondial Top Scan) in DC.
2025- Aquaman Power Wave (Mack Powersplash) in DC.

Cool list. I see you thought of the locations but where within the locations would they go. I think many of these can fit somehow. Though I question the ability to fir in the Powersplash within DC's Limited area.

Yeah that’s one a stretch.  On second thought, GCG would probably be gone by that point, and these rides can go there.  That’s a ton of real estate for a not so great ride.

I could live with GCG leaving to add more attractions to DC.  If they did though they really should do something wit he backside of the buildings.

I put it in another thread but a Mondial Top Scan and Mack Powersplash would complement the area greatly right there.

You mentioned both in your 5-year plan.  I still question the ability to fit the powerplash. The only place I could think of is the parking lot behind the water park which would make it a very expensive water park attraction.

I have not ben on a top scan but been on similar rides and they aren't the most comfortable rides.
