Movie recommendations
« on: January 01, 2020, 03:59:10 pm »
Between Thanksgiving and Christmas I actually had time to see a couple of movies thanks to a theater in Hartford having 9 AM showings!! I felt the two I saw were both worth the effort.  I had some connection to both so maybe they appealed to me more than others.

The first was Ford vs. Ferrari.  I grew up a bit outside of Detroit during the time of the film and as a race fan I was very familiar with the story and the characters portrayed.   The film captured the story pretty well with just a few thing hollywooded up.

The second movie was Richard Jewell.  I was working in Atlanta in the late 80s when Atlanta was working on their Olympic bid so I had followed the Atlanta Olympic saga and this story closely.  Again, the movie was pretty close to the real story and well worth seeing.

I saw Uncut Gems the other day and I recommend it to everyone.  It’s exhilarating and I walked out with a headache (in the best way possible.)

I need to check out this movie. I know it's on Netflix.  looks like a solid movie. I've seen Sandlers comedy on Netflix which is most enjoyable. I think Murder Mystery is possibly the best of the group. The Wrong Missy being the worst.

I write many reviews on the Whalom Forums.  107 threads with over 125 movie reviews.
